The surface we install once

Asphalt eventually cracks. Pavers eventually shift or settle. Concrete eventually cracks under freeze-thaw cycles. Pure Pave was designed to break this cycle.

Its natural granite surface, bound by a permeable resin, allows water to pass through the material instead of pooling on top. The result: fewer puddles, less runoff, fewer repairs, and an entrance that retains its appearance much longer than a traditional surface.

For a residential owner, it's a more beautiful, more durable, and easier-to-live-with entrance. For a business, multi-family dwelling, or institution, it's a surface that enhances image, safety, and stormwater management.

Asphalt hasn't changed in 50 years. PurePave has.

While traditional surfaces continue to crack, requiring sealant every 2-3 years, and yielding to Quebec's freeze-thaw cycles, a radically different paving technology is transforming residential driveways and commercial parking lots across Canada.

Cities like Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal have adopted it. The federal government, several universities, airports, and high-end car dealerships are already using it. And it's now available at your location, in Laval, Montreal, and on the North Shore.

What a Pure Pave entry changes in your daily life

Beyond the technical specifications, Pure Pave transforms your relationship with your property. Here are the tangible benefits you'll experience from the very first season.

The valuation of your property

Your entryway tells the first story of your home or business. With Pure Pave, that story stands out at first glance. Over 33 natural granite colors, from classic shades to premium marbles, transform a utilitarian surface into an architectural signature. The property gains curb appeal, presence, and perceived value. A Pure Pave entryway doesn't go out of style, fade, or lose its charm. You chose it once, and it represents you for decades.

Break the crack and refurbishment cycle

Installing a driveway typically marks the beginning of a cycle. Repairing cracks, sealing every 2-3 years, and a complete resurfacing after 15 or 20 years. Pure Pave breaks this cycle. A decade guaranteed by Groupe A1, and over four decades of scientifically tested durability by the University of Ottawa. No cracks to seal. No resurfacing to plan for in 15 years. You install it once, and you forget it.

The water is no longer accumulating on the surface

On asphalt or concrete surfaces, rainwater has nowhere to go. It runs off into the street, overwhelms sewers, and ends up in our waterways laden with salts, oils, and residue. Pure Pave changes the mechanics. The surface absorbs water directly and allows it to return to the soil, just like in a natural forest. Where asphalt lets nothing through and where interlocking pavers absorb a few liters per minute, Pure Pave absorbs 38,000 liters of water per square meter per hour. Imagine pouring the contents of 200 full bathtubs onto a single square meter in one hour, and having the surface absorb it.

Winter comfort like no other surface can offer

Winter in Quebec lasts six months. On an asphalt surface, that means six months of maintenance: repeated shoveling, spreading salt, breaking up ice, and treading carefully with every step. Pure Pave changes the equation. The permeable structure accelerates snow melt by 50%. Ice is less likely to form. Salt becomes almost unnecessary. The surface is naturally slip-resistant and compliant with AODA accessibility standards. Your children can play there safely. Your customers can enter without slipping. And on the morning after a light snowfall, you might just wonder if you really need to shovel today.

Permeable paving suitable for your project

Whether you own a prestigious home, manage a premium commercial parking lot, or are responsible for an institutional project, Pure Pave by Groupe A1 meets your needs.

How does PurePave permeable paving work?

Imagine a surface as solid as concrete, but that allows water to pass through like natural undergrowth. That's exactly what Pure Pave does.

A layered structure designed to last

The Pure Pave system is comprised of four distinct layers, each with a specific role. At the top is a decorative surface made of natural granite (or marble for prestige applications) bonded by a patented polyurethane resin. Beneath this surface is the Pure Pave permeable resin, which ensures mechanical cohesion while allowing water to flow through. Below that, a draining base of crushed stone approximately 30 centimeters thick acts as a natural reservoir. Finally, the natural soil receives the filtered water.

The water never stagnates. It passes through the surface, goes through the resin, seeps into the draining base, and gradually returns to the soil. No runoff into the street. No puddles form. No accumulation near the foundation.

couches Pure pave

 L

water absorbed by M2, per hour

To put this number into perspective, it's nearly 400 times the intensity of the worst storm ever recorded in Quebec. Your drain absorbs rain faster than it can fall.

A resistance that surpasses that

Where asphalt breaks down under repeated freeze-thaw cycles and interlocking pavers shift over time, Pure Pave stays in place. The polyurethane resin gives the material a flexibility of 249% elongation, combined with a flexural strength of 6.18 MPa. In short, the material is both extremely strong and capable of expanding with temperature changes without cracking.

The University of Ottawa subjected Pure Pave to 40 complete freeze-thaw cycles in its civil engineering laboratory. The result: the world's first paving surface to suffer no loss of strength. A peer-reviewed scientific study published in the Canadian Journal of Civil Engineering documents all of the results.

The investment pays for itself over time

Pure Pave is comparable to interlock paving stones in installation cost, but with a superior lifespan and much less recurring maintenance. For homeowners who think in terms of long-term value, the calculation is simple: it's better to invest once in a durable surface than to repeat the same cycle every 15 to 20 years.
